Last Bible trilogy observations

In Last Bible III, beast levels are capped at (base level + 4). That is, they can only gain four levels on top of whatever they start with when you first recruit them. They simply don't gain any more EXP afterwards, and the EXP to next level displays 0/0. If you're trying to level grind, and you're not relying on them to help you win battles, you should probably shelve maxed-out beasts until you actually need them.

Official team members (humans, the dragon, Harry and Du) have no such restrictions. You can level them as much as you want. 

Last Bible 1 and 2 cap character stats at 40, though they can still be increased further through use of stat-raising charms. Last Bible 3 caps character stats at 50. If you put points in a stat that's already capped, it will have no further effect, so watch out! 


Last Bible 1 and 2's highest possible level cap is 161. Once all stats are raised to 40, you can't level any more. In Last Bible 1, the Luck stat is excluded from this, so depending on how many points are placed in it once all the other stats are maxed out, your level cap might be lower. Last Bible 3's level cap is 200. 

EXP is capped at 9,999,999 for all three Last Bible games. However, in Last Bible 3, this is only a visible cap. You can continue to gain experience beyond that, and you will continue to gain levels, too. However, EXP per battle is capped at 65535 divided by the number of characters in your party, so you will be spending a lot of time grinding if you wish to see the level cap. 

EXP to next level is capped at 999,999 for Last Bible 3. You will reach this at level 65, which, coincidentally, is also the point where you'll reach 9,999,999 EXP. This game can be beaten at level 40-45 with a lot of effort, but you'll probably want to be at least level 50 for an easier time. Being that the level cap in Last Bible 3 is 200, this means you will require around 145 million EXP to hit the level cap. Being that your average endgame encounter gives about 3000-4000 EXP to a 6-man party, you'll be at it for a long time unless you're cheating.

HP is capped at 9,999 for Last Bible 3. It's also capped at 9,999 for the first two Last Bible games, but you can never get your HP that high without cheating, so it doesn't really come into play. MP is capped at 255 in all three games, and you'll typically reach this a little over halfway through any of them without much effort.

The most profitable normal battle in Last Bible III, 2 Narasimhas and 1 Sanniyaka, fought in the final dungeon, provides 37,256 EXP divided by the number of party members. The Narasimhas like to try to revive their fallen cohorts with Samarecarm. If successful, once you kill them again, they provide even more EXP. If the Narasimhas revive two or three times, the EXP for this battle increases to 65,535, the maximum that can be received in a single battle. 

Macca is capped at 999,999 in all three games. The bank is capped at 999,000 macca. By the end of the game, you will easily hit the cap on both, with nothing to spend it on.

In Last Bible 1 and 2, inventory is capped at 8 items for each character. In Last Bible 1, only humans can carry items. In Last Bible 2, both humans and beasts can carry items. In Last Bible 3, you can carry items in stacks of 99, and you can even carry multiple stacks of the same item. However, inventory is still limited to 64 slots, and it can get clogged surprisingly quickly, so you are going to want to sell items you don't need on occasion.
In Last Bible 3, if you sell a stack with items that totals over 1,000,000 macca in value, the display only shows the last 6 digits of the total value. You will also only get 999,999 macca for selling it. Of course, if you've fought enough enemies to have a stack of items worth 7 figures total, chances are you already HAVE 999,999 macca, so it doesn't really matter.

-Last Bible 1 and 2 have a bit of a post-game where you can recruit some EXTREMELY powerful demons, up to and including the final bosses of each game. You can recruit Lucifer, Vaerial/Belial, Baal and Michael in Last Bible 1 and 2, and you can recruit Gaia in Last Bible 2. This doesn't really serve any purpose, other than never having to worry about losing a fight again, and for getting stronger for vs. mode, which really only applies for the first one unless you live in Japan, and even then, it's not likely you know someone else who has a copy of Last Bible 1 or 2 on hand in this day and age. Last Bible 3 has no postgame, unless there's some secret way of unlocking it that I'm not aware of. The game ends at the end screen, and resetting and loading your save file just takes you to the last place you saved, prior to fighting the final boss. 

-I've heard rumors that you can recruit the final boss after beating Last Bible III, but unless I'm missing something, this is false. I can see why it wouldn't be recruitable, either. The final boss has 7000 HP on its second form alone, his physical attack strikes 6 times in one round, can cast Mazionga, Mazanma and Maragion, can cast a powerful non-elemental spell, can drain HP and MP, can cast Tetrakarn to reflect all physical attacks, has high defense, can send your beasts into reserve with a whirlwind, and, unless you've been dumping a lot of your points into speed, usually goes first. Not to mention, his sprite is huge, and wouldn't fit in the character portrait section of the status screen. While fairly weak when you're fighting against him, his first form is no slouch, either, being higher than all but the strongest recruitable beasts in most stats, and having several times more HP than any recruitable beast. He has high attack power, fairly high defense, and can cast Mudoon and Makarakarn.

You also recruit Belial, Baal and Lucifer in Last Bible 3, but they're temporary party members that only accompany you for a single late-game dungeon, and are unrecruitable otherwise unless you use cheats. Presumably due to being many thousands of years older than they were in their previous appearance, they are also fairly weak in comparison to their previous counterparts, and possibly even weaker than some of the beasts you've recruited throughout the game, if you're playing it right. I'm not sure if they can be leveled indefinitely, or if they follow the same formula of only gaining up to 4 levels past their base level. Not that it matters... You probably won't be gaining more than one or two levels with them in the span of time you have them. In fact, you may only ever fight one single mandatory boss battle with Lucifer if you proceed with the story rather than going back and grinding a bit.

You can also recruit Michael, as well as his slightly weaker counterparts Gabriel, Raphael and Uriel, and while not as powerful as Michael is in Last Bible 1 and 2, they are still VERY useful... In fact, they're some of the best beasts you can get without experimenting tirelessly on beast fusion.

Last Bible 3 is pretty easy overall, especially during the latter parts of the game. It's very easy to beat most random encounters, and even bosses, using Auto. Some exceptions include enemies that use Tetrakarn, boss battles with multiple opponents with full-party attacks, the boss battles in the Battle Arena (some of them can use attacks like Mazionga for over 200 damage to your entire party when you have maybe 400-500 HP, tops, and they have mooks that, while significantly weaker, can also do a decent amount of damage to you), and the two battles with three Zuuls (they have attacks that can do 40+ damage to your whole party when having 150-200 HP is a big deal, and they LOVE spamming it.) The final boss is also a notable exception, at least during his second phase. Trying to Auto him will get you VERY killed, VERY fast.
